‘Kai Moana’ Painting by Tongan artist, Tanya Edwards.
Umea (red clay) and tongo (natural dye of the mangrove root) on feta’aki (bark cloth). This work looks at the role of women in Tonga as the main nurturers, inspired by the women seen daily at low tide gathering sea food for the family evening meal.
